Something special happened last week: Ananda celebrated Spiritual Renewal Week for the 54th time. And, at the risk of sounding hyperbolic, it was the best one ever!
Like the wine of the mystics flowing from the cask of silence, SRW ages well. The meditations, talks, music, and spiritual community lifted our spirits to a high level of inspiration. Paramhansa Yogananda described God's spirit as "Ever-new joy!"
Also, congratulations and gratitude to our spiritual directors, Nayaswami Jyotish and Nayaswami Devi! As part of SRW, they launched their latest book, Touch of Divine Wisdom. Renowned teachers, ministers, and writers, Jyotish & Devi have written over 500 inspiring weekly blogs, each one filled with interesting stories, spiritual advice, and practical application of yogic truths. It’s available in print, ebook, and audiobook. Purchase your copy here!
To clarify our purpose and joyful divine mission, Swami Kriyananda named our community, Ananda (ever-new divine joy). "Ever-new joy" was a fitting description for SRW.
At the end of the week, during our Sunday Service, we all chanted Ever-New Joy together in four languages: English, Hindi, Spanish, and Italian. Standing together as children of God, we chanted, claiming our divine birthright. It thrilled the soul with unbroken joy to truly experience a world brotherhood community.
As Yogananda said, "Brotherhood is an ideal better understood by example than precept!"
Whether you were able to attend or not, we invite you to enjoy the recordings that will be posted to Ananda's YouTube Channel.
We hope you can join us next year for what will be the best-ever SRW!
Joy to you!
